The Person of Praise

I disagree with Don Williams position of Charismatic worship. However, I cannot really disagree with much he has offered. One great point that Don Williams mentioned is "When worshipers 'go public' they must check their hearts ruthlessly. Redman adds, "One trend in worship which increasingly worries me is the whole performance thing. . . . Praise is a contradiction of pride. Pride says, 'Look at me,' but praise longs for people to see Jesus." (147) How can we disagree with this statement verbally? However, sometimes I think in action we disagree with this statement because we are proud and selfish people. Jesus is what praise and worship is about. It's not about us, it is about Him.
