Thin line....

Don Williams says, “One trend in worship which increasingly worries me is the whole performance thing…. Praise is a contradiction of pride.” (147) It is true that music and ministry can be done in a prideful manner, which is lifting the musician up with pride in performance. The exact opposite is worship leading. It is fairly easy to tell if the worship is performance-based or worship-based which leads me to say that we are given the ministry responsibilities to handle our duty seriously so that pride will not take over when we are in the public’s eye. The line then is very thin and what factors should be considered when we lead worship?
