I loved the concern that Drake and his followers showed when natives tried to worship them as gods. Because of the language barrier, they had every excuse not to do anything about the wrong worship the natives were exercising. Instead they chose to breech that gap by example. They were so concerned that these natives worship the right person that they did all they could to point them in the right direction, even "Beseeching God if it were his good pleasure to open by some meanes their blind eyes.." (pg. 82). I was challenged to consider how much concern I have that unbelievers are brought to a knowledge of the one true God. Also, how concerned am I that God receives the praise due him? I could use many excuses to not concern myself with these things, but if I am truly concerned with things of heaven I should be doing everything I can to point others towards God. "For from Him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." Romans 11:36
