Unity

I greatly appreciate Joe Horness' desire to maintain unity in the church when it comes to worship. Concerning CCM, he states that "there is no competition with other worship styles. Ours is no better than theirs. We simply use what will serve our people best and help them encounter God most readily. The end is to meet with Jesus, to know his presence, to fully engage our hearts in authentic expressions of love to him. (109)" These are wonderful goals! Although I doubt that Joe Horness always knows how to "serve people best," it is obvious that he seeks to protect unity within the universal Body of Christ. Such an attitude must please God, since His Word talks so much about the subject of unity. (Ps. 133:1; Jn. 10:16; 17:11,21-23; Rom. 12:4-5; 1 Cor. 10:17; 12:5-27; Eph. 1:10; 2:14-21; 3:6; 4:4-25; Col. 3:11-15)
