Different Churches, Same Worship

“The contentions and distinguishing Words of Sects and Parties are secluded, that whole Assemblies might assist at the Harmony, and different Churches join in the same Worship without Offence.” (p. 118)

One nice thing about last night was simply the thought that some Baptists came to a Presbyterian church, and knew and sang (almost) all the songs, and there was nothing in them to take Offence at. There was nothing we said or sang or heard to which we could say, “Um…I don’t know if I agree with that.” It was simply an enjoyable time of worship together. (The preacher even poked a little fun at Presbyterians, and conservative churches in general.)

“Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Psalm 133:1
