There are times when we are discouraged because we do not know where God is leading us or because we are suffering while pursuing God. From our reading, we learn that Francis was in that situation. He also received great consolations from the Lord. Francis’s life showed that we are to follow the Lord by obeying God’s will no matter where it leads us. A challenge for me from the reading is that while Francis is certainly a witness for Christ, we are also called to do the same; we need to be willing to pay the price because our treasures are laid up in heaven.

Our Treasures Are Laid Up In Heaven
