Zwingli says “…my serious advice would be that instead of psalm mumblings, one would read the psalm and explain it, and ….I say the same also of the other scriptures.” (53). Not that I necessarily agree with Zwingli but this phrase triggers me to think, especially this time of year, when I take my devotion, I need to pay special attention to what God wants to teach me as I prepare for the practice of trust and obedience, facing life and exercising faith in the midst of the obstacles and opportunities that will confront me.
